Will Turns 14!!

The birthday boy opening artwork sent by his cousins Eli (age 3.5) and Henry (age 2). We celebrated in style with breakfast at the historic Lake Quinault Lodge in the temporate rainforest of the Olympic Peninsula. Our waiter suggested we drive the loop road around the Lake, which proved to be a real treat (at least for me!) as Dave spotted, and we all watched, a herd of Roosevelt Elk grazing by the riverside. That evening we slept in a yurt (photo above is from inside) at Cape Disappointment, which happens to be the end point where the Lewis & Clark expedition met the Pacific ocean. We are reading all about L & C now in school.

HAPPY BIRTHYDAY Will. From your negligent aunt. Can we celebrate when we see you in a couple of weeks? Can you ever forgive me? (I think in your 14 years I have never actually hit your birthday on time, though, so you're probably used to this, eh? I'm either really early...like June...or late.) Love you and CAN'T WAIT to see you!

You're looking good at fourteen, Will! Great art work from Eli too!
Hope your folks shared the b.day cash I sent with you (maybe that was the breakfast you had)! Not much news here - lots of Bridge and tennis for me. Annie is already blowing leaves and working hard on her place. Lots of love to all of you. M/E/G.El
