The Bird has Landed!

Boarding her plane moments before the snowstorm hit the northeast, my sister Carrie arrived safely in Cancun, Mexico around noon yesterday. Changing into shorts in the airport parkinglot (in the van, of course!) we were soon on our way toward a hotel near the Chichen Itza ruins, which we'll tour today. Here she is relaxing by the pool just momemts ago (6:30 AM) with Kim and a duck - that apparently likes to swim, too!

I can leave happily tomorrow at 4 a.m. knowing all is well with the happy reunioners in Mexico. The picture of Kim and Carrie spells absolute serenity and happi-
ness.
The weather forcast for Maui is less than glowing - looks very dampish. We'll have fun anyway. I've unpacked one bathing suit in preparation.
Lots of love to all of you,
Mom/El/Grandma

Yeah Care and Kim! Tom and I are doing some final prep before Sam drives us to the airport to find Grandma on the plane to Maui! Fortunately she talked to me before she unpacked her suit. The forcast is highs of 80s and lows of 60s where we're staying. The upcountry is always cooler and rainy I've heard. What do I know, though? Enjoy your travels with little seester. If I get to an internet cafe, I'll check up on you. Otherwise it'll be March 7 B4 I see your blog again. Miss you already. XOXO, Mary

What a great auntie/niece photo! Kim is happy to be with her aunt, I think!
