Native Ladies Selling Wares

Climbing to the top of this island village, we pass hundreds of colorful stalls chocked full of a wide and interesting assortment of wares: everything from religious icons to cups shaped like breasts with spouts in the nipples for drinking! Mostly, they were selling very nice handicrafts, embroidered doilies, ceramics, baskets, carved masks, colorful clothing and plenty of food and drink. It made for a perfect family afternoon outing.

It must have been hard to resist all the beautiful wares pictured in your latest blog. What a spot! It may have been touristy, but looked well worth the visit. Life here is almost as fascinating. Today I hit the yarn sale at Michaels! Oh well.... It's hard keeping up with the
Jonah/Dixons. Lots of love,
Mom/El/Grandma

I TOTALLY get the Michael's yarn sale comparison. sigh. :-) With another 6-8" of the white stuff predicted, your photos are VERY much appreciated. THANKS! --LO
