Happy Anniversary to US!

Tomorrow we celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Where does time go when you are having fun? We plan to pack a picnic and head out exploring redwood forests of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Parkwith the kids. It occurred to us recently that we hadn't spent a solid week in one place since leaving the Jersey shore three months ago, we really needed a break from the constant moving. We are renting a cute little cabin Fort Dick, northern California [just over the border from Oregon] for a week owned by a friendly couple Mike and Jodie O'Connell. Its been great to have a home base with two essentials: TV and WIFI. We took in the Presidential debates last night and look forward to the upcoming Vice Presidential spectacle, which should be illuminating and interesting! We were in the interior of Alaska when McCain selected Palin as his running mate. Alaskans for the most part were SHOCKED. While they seem to generally like her [liberals included] as governor, and are proud as Alaskans that their governor would even be considered for the position. I would have to say universally there was strong agreement she lacks the experience and cridentials for the job of VP or, God forbid, the President. But we'll try to stay focused on the trees so it doesn't ruin our anniversary tomorrow.

Happy ANniversary to you both. Yes, being with a very special friend many years is a treasure indeed, and to have fun together year after year!

Made my first Pumpkin Bread Pudding of the cooler months yesterday. Tucson is trying to ready the town for fall temps for your arrival next month.

Safe travels and the best. Laura
